The must-see viewpoints

Mijas is known as "the viewpoint of the Costa del Sol". It's no wonder. The privileged location of Mijas Pueblo, 428 meters above sea, provides this town with some of the most spectacular views in the region and Andalusia. Mirador de la Muralla and Mirador del Compas are sites not to be missed. On clear days, you will see Gibraltar, the African coast and the Rif mountains.

Mirador de la Muralla (Wall viewpoint) It's a plain on a rocky gorge with beautiful gardens and several panoramic viewpoints (the so-called Cuesta de la Villa, the most spectacular). Here was the core of the Islamic Mixa. A highly recommended walking area.
Mirador del Compas (Compas Viewpoint) Stunning panoramas of the Mediterranean Coast and the mountains. Here you will also find a Japanese garden, a panoramic restaurant and, nearby, the Virgen de la Peña hermitage.
