Zocodover square

It's the heart of Toledo, the meeting point, the scene where a thousand stories have happened for centuries: duels, bullfights, parades, wars, popular festivities... Here was the market for pack animals in the Islamic Tulaytela, sūq ad-dawābb in Arabic, and from it derives its name. Here you will find today a great commercial environment and terraces (if the weather permits) where you can enjoy the atmosphere.

How to get there

Zocodover square is also part of one of the most practical access to the historic city, which lies on an elevated location. Two minutes from the bus station you will find some escalators  that will allow you to 'climb' to the vicinity of Zocodover square. If you prefer to make the way  by public transport, you can always take one of the buses that leave you at the Plaza de Zocodover (Line 5).
Strategic point

From this square starts Commerce street, that will take you to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City council square) and the Cathedral.also the place where most guided routes depart. It's a good central place to tour the city in an orderly way. Here you will find a Tourist Office and the starting point of the tourist train.
