Islamic Watchtowers

Torremuelle, Torrebermeja and Torrequebrada: the names of the three watchtowers located in Benalmádena. The entire Costa del Sol is dotted with this type of towers whose mission was to watch the coast and preventing the arrival of enemy forces. A good part of these towers were built in Al Andalus times. Later the Christians built new ones with the same objective, or reused those of Islamic origin.
