Endless castles

This castle, which dominates the town of Biar from a hill, is of Islamic origin (12th century), although it later had great transformations. It keeps an Almohad vault. Open every day, although with variable hours. Admission: € 1.

It is one of the oldest and most important castles in the entire Valencia Region and even in Spain. It's divided into two parts, the Castillo Mayor and the Castillo Menor. Of Iberian origin, then it was extended by the Romans and Muslims and later it was an important spot in the era of the Kingdom of Valencia. Admission: € 2,5.

Morella is famous for its castle, built on top of the town taking advantage of a steep rocky mountain. It is an Islamic fortification of the XIII century with subsequent reforms of medieval architecture. Admission: € 3,5.

The most famous inhabitant of this Templar castle, one of the most visited in Valencia Region, was a rebel pope. It is also one of the most photogenic forts, with spectacular views of Peñíscola by the sea. It has even been the scene of Game of Thrones. Admission: € 5.
