The Watchtowers

The entire Costa del Sol is dotted with watchtowers whose mission was to watch the coast and prevent the arrival of enemy forces. A good part of these towers were built in Al Andalus times. Later the Christians built new ones with the same objective, or reused those of Islamic origin. In the surroundings of Torrox you will find two of these towers, called Torre de Güi or del Morche, and Torre Calaceite.
