With its double row of seats, the choir is considered by many to be the most impressive of the European cathedrals. Further, the sacristy is a veritable art gallery of old masters, with works by Velázquez, Goya, Tiziano, Caravaggio and, of course, El Greco. The chapels house up to 9 royal tombs. From the bell tower (248 steps) you will have an amazing panoramic view of Toledo.

Some researchers point out that the mosque's prayer room corresponds to the central area with five naves of the current cathedral. The sahn (or courtyard) would coincide with a part of the current cloister and the chapel of St. Peter, and the mosque's minaret with the bell tower.

In addition, there are some vestiges of the Muslim construction: an Islamic column in the chapel of Saint Lucia; the marble column shafts that line the exterior of the choir, and the arches of the Caliphate style in the main chapel and in the ambulatory.

This chapel, also called of Corpus Christi, is the third in importance of the cathedral, but it is unique in the world. Indeed, it is the only one in which the mass still survives according to the rite practiced by the Mozarabs in Toledo, that is, the Christians who lived in the city under Muslim rule. This Mass, which obtained a special permission from the Vatican to subsist, is daily. It comes from the ancient Visigoth liturgy and has Latin chants.

From Monday  to Saturday: 10:00 - 18:30. / Sunday: 14:00 - 18:30.
