The homeland of Al Mansur

Abo‑Amir Muhammed Ben Abi Amer —better known as Al Mansur— was born in Torrox. Though he never became caliph —serving instead as ḥājib (chamberlain)— he effectively ruled Al‑Andalus from 981 until his death in 1002. He managed the state, reformed the armies, waged over 50 campaigns against the Christian kingdoms —and won them all— becoming one of Al‑Andalus's most legendary figures.
