Old & New Mudejar

The Muslims who continued living in the territories that had been part of Al Andalus, when they became governed by the Christians, are known as 'Mudéjares'. Many Mudejar masters and architects made new buildings with some Islamic characteristics. This is the case of the Lujanes Palace, the oldest civil building in Madrid, and few churches. Later, at the beginning of the 20th century, the architects were again inspired by Mujejar style.
