The lighthouse

On the top of Torrox stands a 23 meters tall lighthouse that was first lit up in 1864. It's completed with a red roof building that gives it a romantic look. In 1905, the lighthouse keeper, a fan of Archeology, excavated the surroundings and discovered the remains of the Roman villa of Clavicum and the salting factory associated to it, later used as a necropolis. Bravo, lighthouse keeper!
