Where: The Axarquía is the easternmost region of the province of Malaga. It has a coastal area and an inland one. Rincón de la Victoria is 37 kilometers from Archez, where this route begins.

Points of interest: The villages of the Axarquía along this route are beautiful —but the true gems are the ancient mosque minarets that still stand, now repurposed as church bell towers. You’ll encounter four wonderfully preserved examples, notably in the towns of Salares, Corumbela, Árchez and Daimalos.
