Cuarto Real
The Cuarto Real (Upper Royal Quarters) is a Nasrid palace built during the reign of Muhammad II (1273-1302). It was used as a place of retreat. The only part preserved is the fortified tower. In its interior, we find the 'qubba' or hall of receptions, used today as an exhibition and multipurpose hall. This small palace contains an enormous greatness: to be the predecessor of the Alhambra and a real source of inspiration for it.
