Puerta de Alcalá
This monumental gate was once the main entrance to Madrid. The neoclassical triumphal arch made of granite was the first of its kind to be built after the fall of the Roman Empire, making it even older than Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate or the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Located next to El Retiro Park, from Puerta de Alcalá, begin some of the most elegant and exclusive streets in Madrid.
