Olive oil tasting

Olive oil is a gastronomic gem and a star product in Spain. Andalusia—and more specifically Cordoba—are among the leading olive oil producers and rank among the best destinations to enjoy it. Of course, olive oil is an indispensable ingredient in Spanish cuisine, but beyond that, you'll find specialized establishments called 'oleotecas' where you can not only discover the finest varieties, but also participate in tastings and learn to savor and appreciate this liquid treasure. In Córdoba, several such establishments exist, with the Oleoteca de Córdoba being among the very best. By the way, it was the Romans who introduced the cultivation of olive trees in Spain, but it was during the times of Al Andalus that its use in cooking became popular.
